Los Penasquitos Preserve
Canyon Trail Ride
The Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is one of San Diego
County's largest nature preserves. The 3800 acre preserve is shared by hikers,
joggers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. It is home to 175 species of birds,
a wide variety of mammals such as mule deer, bobcat, mountain lion, and racoons
and was part of the first Mexican land grant in San Diego County.
After a brief safety talk, the group will mount their horses
for a scenic guided ride through the eucalyptus and live oak groves, along
the Penasquitos Creek and through open meadows. The ride is relaxed and geared
to the needs of the group.
Horse drawn wagon rides are also available for
non-riders. |
