Sand Sculpture Competition

This is a fun, relaxing way to bring out the team spirit and creativity in your group – all while enjoying a sunny afternoon on one of California’s beautiful beaches. Upon arrival at the selected beach, the group will be led in a brief warmup and stretching session, followed by dividing into two or more teams for the afternoon. One or two spirited beach relay races will get the blood pumping and the competitive spirit going.

After a short lesson and demonstration on sand sculpture techniques from a professional sand sculptor, each team will be given a selection of tools and materials. They must first draft a design of their sculpture, based on previously established criteria. The expert will be available to assist and advise. The group is given a set time frame for completing the construction of their sculpture and must then present it to the judges and to their fellow competitors.

An awards ceremony follows the judges decisions. Prizes can be given in several categories.

This activity is a natural lead-in for a beach BBQ or picnic.

Optional: Artist can do a custom sculpture in advance for the group at an additional cost.
