Team Pursuit Scavenger Hunt
Pursuit is defined as “to
seek to achieve,” and that is exactly what your group will be
doing while enjoying a fast-paced, fun-filled afternoon! They will be
challenged mentally and physically with activities that will naturally
enhance the team spirit and camaraderie of the group and each individual
team. This is a good choice to hold at a hotel property or other fun
locations.
The activity will begin with
reviewing the characteristics of a successful team – and also
unsuccessful teams. The group will then be divided into teams of up
to 10 for a brief description of the afternoon’s fun. Each team
will be given a pack of materials which will contain detailed instructions,
maps and other materials that they will need on their “pursuit”
of the team award. Directions and a description of the challenges will
be given and a short time will be given for the teams to come up with
a team name and a strategy for completing the challenges within the
time limitations. The entire activity is based on decision-making, strategy,
communication and team spirit. After the names are entered on the scoreboard
– its off and running!
Challenge activities are
varied and utilize different skills. Some are physical, while others
will challenge the mind or the group’s strategy skills. Many of
the activities require the participation of the entire team, but several
may require the participation of only a few members. It is up to each
team to effectively utilize their limited resources to accomplish as
much as possible – and, of course, accumulate the highest score.
All challenge activities are fun-based and require the use of at least
one of the basic skills necessary for a highly functional team. The
winning team will be the one who has most effectively communicated,
planned, and coordinated their efforts.
After a rousing awards ceremony,
connections to the actual work environment will be made, and each team
will be asked what contributed to their success. Everyone is a winner,
leaving with enhanced team spirit and a better knowledge of how to be
a better team member.
Team Pursuit will be customized
to the specific needs and interests of each group.
