Solar Car Challenge

We all hear how critical it is to "go green" and to do something to preserve and protect our environment. So why not take a stance and hold a teambuilding event that will not only bring your group together for some fun competition, but also bring a new awareness to what we can do to reduce our "footprint" on the environment?

In this team challenge, the group will be divided into small teams, each of which will produce their own solar powered car built for maximum speed. Each team will receive the same raw materials and have access to various streamlining materials. Teams must design and construct their vehicle within strict time limits and also design a short "infomercial" to let the judges know why their entry is the best!

After the solar cars are presented, the race is on! Teams will race their car on a designated track using solar energy as the sole power source. Each teams pit crew will be standing by for repairs. Which team's car will best harness and demonstrate the power of the sun?

After the race, there will be an awards ceremony with an engraved trophy for the first place team, as well as bragging rights.
